Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about WeForgiveThem.org.

Do I need to create an account to submit a message?

No. You can submit a forgiveness message, browse messages, and react to messages completely anonymously — no account required.

Will my message appear immediately?

No. Every submission is placed in a moderation queue and reviewed by a human moderator before it is published. This ensures the platform remains safe and positive.

How long does moderation take?

We aim to review all submissions within 24–48 hours. During high-traffic periods it may take a bit longer.

Can I remain anonymous?

Yes. The "Post Anonymously" checkbox is enabled by default on the submission form. If you post anonymously, your message will show as submitted by "Anonymous."

What kind of messages are allowed?

Messages of forgiveness, healing, reconciliation, hope, and compassion. Examples: 'I forgive my father after 20 years.' or 'I forgive myself for mistakes I made.' The message must be positive and safe for all ages.

Can I edit or delete my submission?

Anonymous users cannot edit or delete submitted messages. If you create a registered account before submitting, you can edit or delete your submissions while they are still in the pending moderation queue.

What are the positive reactions?

Each published message can receive four positive reactions: ❤️ Inspired, 🙏 Thank You, 🌿 Peace, and 🤍 Hope. There are no negative reactions or downvotes — only encouragement.

How do I report a message that seems harmful?

Each published message has a 'Report' button. Click it, select the reason (e.g., Spam, Hate Speech, Personal Information), and submit. Our moderators will review it.

Is this site free?

Yes, WeForgiveThem.org is completely free to use and ad-free. We rely on voluntary donations to keep the platform running. If you find value here, please consider donating.

How do you protect my privacy?

We collect minimal data. We store a hashed (non-reversible) version of your IP for spam prevention, not your real IP. We never share or sell your data. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Is there a mobile app?

Not yet. A mobile app is on our future roadmap. For now, the website is fully responsive and works beautifully on mobile browsers.

How are donations used?

Donations pay for server hosting, domain registration, email services, and ongoing development. Every dollar keeps this platform free and ad-free for everyone.
